Why the name?

In a traditional verse, good luck is brought to the marriage by providing each of the following at the wedding:

            Something old

            Something new

            Something Borrowed

            Something blue

We will provide you with Something Borrowed.  The rest is up to you.

How do I find you?

What do you do?

We are a full service decorator.  We free you from the stress involved in preparing a hall for a reception.  With one phone call you can have it done.  Many of our clients don’t even meet us until after the reception when we are cleaning up.  Others prefer to have personal input into every detail.  We specialize in converting cultural halls to provide a look and an atmosphere you may have never thought possible

Why do I need a professional decorator?

Experienced decorators are professionals in the details that provide for a comfortable atmosphere.  They help ensure there will be enough tables and chairs without crowding.  They understand crowd control; from the warm welcome at the correct entry door to making sure your guests never feel that they’re going up the down staircase.

In addition to relieving you of stress and labor before the event, a decorator will become your best friend after the event.  A profession decorator will bring in an experienced crew that can have your decorations removed in 30 minutes to an hour. This allows you to concentrate on other aspects of clearing the building.  You will be tired.  You will appreciate the service.

What are my responsibilities?

You hold the contract with the facility you are renting.  You provide someone to let us in at the appropriate time.  You clear the hall of unwanted items.  You set up the facility owned tables and chairs you want to use.  You are responsible for any contractual cleanup after our decorations have been removed.  We take responsibility only for setup and removal of Something Borrowed assets.

Do you rent pieces separately?   I only need a couple items.

No. We provide you with a complete package that will impress your guests and reduce your stress.

As for the couple of items, call us and we will try to help you locate those things.

Why is Something Borrowed the right choice for me?

We feel that the only things you take with you from the night are your pictures and your memories.  Whether you hire a professional photographer or a wannabe, we provide backdrops and settings that will make your pictures turn out so spectacularly that friends will wonder where they were taken.

As for the memories:  It might be more fun for you if you were not there while we decorated. The experience you will have as you walk into the hall for the first time is one you will never forget; neither will your guests.

You will hear the praise over and over again from your guests throughout the night.

What is your service area.

We service Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Morgan counties.

Trousseau

The possessions, such as clothing and linens that a bride assembles for her marriage. Throughout history, single young women all over the world have prepared for their change in marital status by accumulating a trousseau. A traditional trousseau -- stored in a hope chest -- included bridal accessories, jewelry, lingerie, toiletries and makeup, plus bed linens and bath towels for her new home. From Victorian times till today, the trousseau also has consisted of brand-new outfits to see a woman through her wedding, honeymoon, and newlywed days. Oftentimes the garments in a trousseau were hand-sewn by a mother, aunt, grandmother, or the girl herself if skilled with a needle.

I’m a return client. Do I get a discount?

Yes. As a return client you always get 10% off the current internet price

We have provided decorations for 2nd and 3rd weddings for many families.

Is there a travel fee?

There is no travel fee for most of our service area.
$50 travel fee applies:
South of 53rd South in SLC,
North of 12th St. in Ogden
     East of South Weber.

Can I see what I am getting before I commit?

Yes.  Call us and we will provide you with the date and location that a given selection will be set up.  Most clients saw the backdrop at someone else’s wedding;  they don’t mind if you see it at theirs.
Please act in good taste and… don’t stay for dinner.

Can I change my mind after I make my deposit?

No.  The deposit confirms both a date and a backdrop selection.  We will begin turning away business upon receipt of your deposit.

Is there a deposit required?

When you have selected the style, you can reserve it for a specific day with a $100.00 deposit.

Will you hold a date and backdrop while I’m waiting to see it set up?

Not without a deposit.  You may just have to trust your friend’s opinion of how pretty it really was when she saw it.

What forms of payment will you accept?

We accept personal checks and cash paid in full three days in advance of the event.

If I use a partial package, will you discount the price?

No. Your reservation commits a crew to your venue and “ties-up” the package.
Both of those are “all or nothing” commitments for us and so your price does not change.
